It is, in my opinion, important to include Brad Pitt as the angst-ridden Louis and Tom Cruise as the defiant Lestat, from Anne Rice’s “Interview With the Vampire”. If you haven’t seen the film, stream it on Netflix or download it. The world of sexy vampires isn’t all about the high school going blood drinkers of 2009.
Louis is my favorite fictional vampire, struggling to discover who he is and what it means to be a vampire, while still clinging to the human concept of compassion. And, Brad Pitt’s portrayal is masterful (not to mention how utterly gorgeous he is in period clothing and long hair).
Lestat’s conversion of Louis, high in the air, draining him, flying, holding him close and ultimately letting him plunge into the ocean is not to be missed.
