I’m intrigued by “Push”, by Sapphire, and by the film “Precious”. I happened to see a trailer for it yesterday on T.V. All at the same time, I’m not certain I can handle the brutal subject matter. I worked for the Probation Department in California as a transcriptionist. I transcribed reports for court cases that made fictional crime seem like a walk in the park, and since that experience, reading or seeing something that comes so close to reality – sometimes so horrific and dark is something I have to think twice about. Still and all, what makes stories like this so important is their honesty, and the truth that follows is the strength of the human spirit.
